WHAT IS BHUTA SHUDDHI?
The most fundamental practice in the yogic system is called as Bhuta Shuddhi. Bhuta means Panchabhuta or the five elements. Shuddhi means to cleanse. If you learn to cleanse the five elements in the system, that is all there is.
The basis of all creation, including the physical body, is the five elements – earth, water, wind, fire and space. The wellbeing of the body and mind can be established by purifying these five elements within the human system. This process also shapes the body into a stepping stone towards one’s ultimate wellbeing.
If you know how to organize these five elements properly, if you know how to keep these five elements within yourself, then there is nothing more to life. In terms of health, wellbeing, perception, knowing, enlightenment, everything is handled if only you know how to keep these five elements properly.
MASTERY OVER THE FIVE ELEMENTS
All other yogic practices are an extract from the Panchabhuta system of yoga. If you do a certain level of cleansing for the elements, then you attain to what is called as Bhuta Siddhi, that means you have mastery over the elements. If you have mastery over the elements, you not only have mastery over the body, over the mind, but over the very creation.
